Phonological Therapy
** My Specialty **
Are you/others having trouble understanding your child? Does your child have a lot to say but the words/sounds are not clear? Do these sound errors occur in patterns (e.x. poon/spoon, tar/star)? Do NOT worry! I can help! Your child is most likely demonstrating the use of phonological processes (patterns of sound errors) and would benefit from the Cycles Approach to Phonological Therapy. When a child demonstrates multiple process and demonstrates these errors often, it makes speech very difficult to understand. The cycles approach tackles these errors methodically and effectively. By teaching a child phonological "rules" rather than each individual sound in error, we see more gains in overall speech intelligibility more quickly. This is my specialty and my very favorite kind of therapy.

Examples of Phonological Processes:
Final Consonant Deletion: ha/hat, uh/up, o/on
Consonant Cluster Reduction: poon/spoon, tar/star, mell/smell
Velar Fronting: tar/car, do/go, mate/make, dod/dog
Stopping: tee/see, doo/zoo, pour/four
